Hybrid Instruction

What is Hybrid Instruction?

Hybrid learning is an educational model where some students attend class in-person, while others join the class virtually from home. Educators teach remote and in-person students at the same time using Google Meet.

What does a Hybrid Week Look Like?

Description of the Hybrid Week showing Cohort A on Monday/Tuesday and Cohort B on Thursday/Friday

What is the difference between the cohorts?

  • Virtual and face-to-face students will receive instruction at the same time from their teachers.
  • Class times for both virtual and face-to-face students will be the same.

When virtual, will my child be able to see what the teacher is doing in the classroom?

  • Yes, teachers will be equipped with an adjustable webcam and microphone, so that virtual students can still see and hear him/her.

What should I bring?

  • FULLY CHARGED device each day.
  • A small bag to hold a jacket, personal needs, and other necessary items (NO LOCKERS)
  • Pen/Pencil and a notebook.
  • Headphones or earbuds. We cannot provide class headsets due to COVID restrictions.
  • 1-2 Masks
  • Water Bottle (no fountains will be available)
  • Lunch if needed

How can I stay up to date with my child's grades?

  • Due to the ransomware attack, there is no longer a separate parent/guardian portal.  You must instead, log into your child’s Schoology Account at bcps.schoology.com with your child’s username and password (ask your child for this).  There, you can view your child’s grades by following these steps.
