Mission
Lansdowne Middle School is committed to school improvement and community involvement by empowering citizens, who utilize decision-making skills to solve real-world problems. We strive to infuse rigor, technology and character education in daily instruction in order to cultivate students’ academic potential. This is our mission!
Vision
Lansdowne Middle School will provide a positive, safe and inviting environment where diversity is embraced and all students can succeed. Partnerships among parents, students, staff and community members will enhance this active learning community. Through rigorous instruction and real world experiences all students will demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become life-long learners.

We believe all students deserve skillful instruction provided by effective, highly qualified teachers.
We believe that all staff members must model ethical behavior, develop respectful relationships and foster student responsibility by means of mutual trust.
We believe positive behavior intervention strategies should be used to promote pro-social behaviors.

Goals
1. Promote our positive school culture by:
a. Increasing parent participation
b. Increasing student motivation through PBIS
c. Increasing teacher enthusiasm for school-wide initiatives
d. Increasing and strengthening community partnerships
e. Supporting an environment of mutual respect for differences in ethnicity
and aptitude
2. Increase academic achievement through:
a. Monitoring and supporting rigorous instruction
b. Utilizing Learning Preferences Inventory and STC to aid in differentiation of
instruction.
c. Individualized student instruction during ARE
d. High-quality, on-going professional development
e. Utilization of county and state resources
f. AVID strategies
g. PBIS implementation
h. Increased infusion of technology into daily instruction
